Drunken Mussels

Drunken Mussels are a delicious and easy-to-make seafood dish where fresh mussels are cooked in a flavorful broth made with white wine and garlic. The aroma of the wine and garlic infuses into the mussels, giving them a delightful flavor. This dish is perfect for entertaining or for a cozy night in.

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs fresh mussels, cleaned and debearded

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup dry white wine

  • 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth

  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Crusty bread for serving

Instructions:

Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat


Add minced garlic and saut until fragrant, about 1 minute


Pour in white wine and broth, then bring to a simmer


Add cleaned mussels to the pot and cover with a lid


Cook for about 5-7 minutes or until mussels open


Discard any mussels that do not open


Season with salt and pepper to taste


Sprinkle chopped parsley over the mussels


Serve hot with crusty bread for dipping
